Intown Midwifery is established to offer a staff of all female, experienced, Certified Nurse Midwives and a midwifery-friendly OB/GYN doctor whose primary goal is providing excellent, evidence-based care in an enlightening and supportive environment. We practice as a collaborating group, not individually, and there are always midwives available to see patients in the office each day. We are a hand selected group of staff and providers who work to ensure you establish a personal relationship with each one of us as you prepare for your delivery and continue to receive your well woman care.
Since joining our team in August of 2014, Dr. Cherise James has increased her role with Intown as our full time OB/GYN, she is actively involved in collaborative OB support with our midwives and practices a full spectrum of GYN services from Colposcopy, LEEP, follow up care after a loss to elective surgical procedures such as tubal ligation. Dr James is a warm and compassionate supporter of the midwifery model of care and honoring the the mother and child in the birth process.
We currently have three Certified Nurse Midwives providing antepartum care and attend births: Margaret Strickhouser, CNM, Janet Fedullo, CNM, and Michelle Arp, CNM. Margaret Strickhouser, CNM serves as our leader and mentor, Margaret is currently full time in the office and on call shifts. We additionally have 2 Medical Assistants on staff to support the providers.
We accept most major insurance carriers, with the exception of Kaiser Permanente, the HMOx Humana plan and Medicaid. You will need to verify that you have maternity coverage with your individual plan. With the ever-changing AHA affecting the majority of policy provisions in 2015 and our ongoing credentialing of newly introduced networks, please check in with our Patient Coordinator for new patients (or with our Billing Manager for existing patients) for verification of the current status of your insurance coverage. It is important to note that Pregnancy care is billed at the time of delivery for all Ante-Partum, Inter-Partum and Post-Partum under Global Billing. Lab and Ultrasound fees are billed separately at time of service.
